Code Red:
Code Red is a notification system that Greene County uses to alert citizens of impending weather-related or other emergencies.  Each person who is registered, receives a call on his/her landline and/or cell phone whenever there is an upcoming potentially hazardous event. All landline numbers are automatically registered in the system. If you would like to register your mobile or internet phone, please visit the website of Greene County, www.discovergreene.com and look for the Code Red box on the Home page. Take a moment to register your contact number so that you can be notified by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts. Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports.

In case of a declared town emergency:
Stop and check your supplies: water, candles, chargers for mobile devices. Report vulnerable family members and neighbors to the Fleischmanns Fire Department. Tune to a TV channel, internet site or radio station to stay informed of local conditions. We will try to post news updates on WRIP radio, Windham and this page on the town website.
Look over emergency procedures and telephone numbers.
Listen for emergency broadcasts about road conditions and local developments.
